November 2002 - November 2014 (12 years)

I was assigned to the Swets core business system in 2002 where my primary focus has been new development and maintenance.
Noteworthy events since then were:
2003 – 2006: During this time various companies were acquired by Swets through merger or takeover. I was directly involved in the conversion and integration of the business data of those companies.
2008: I was jointly responsible for the conversion and upgrade of the business software from COBOL-85 running on an IBM z/OS Mainframe to Fujitsu NetCOBOL running on a Linux platform. At the same time the core business IDMS database was converted to DB2. Implementation, in co-operation with a Belgian partner, took place in 2010.
2010: To complete the move away from the legacy system, the new core business DB2 database was merged with the DB2 database in use by Swets external customer system. I was heavily involved in the conversion of the business software to access this new data model. The project went live on time in 2012 with the help of an Indian partner.
2013: My main task was the removal of a financial sub-system from the main business and advise on its transfer to our newly acquired CRM platform, SalesForce.com.
2014: I was involved in setting up an aggregated Title Catalogue on the MarkLogic database platform. I also began studying for my SalesForce.com DEV401 certification in June 2014.

In 2001 I was given the role of Team Leader, reporting to the CIO, and was responsible for a project to set up a new customer interface on a Linux platform. The team was made up of Java developers from both Swets and IBM. The initial interface went live in 2002.

From 1985 until 2001 I was responsible for the setting up and maintaining Swets first external customer interface, initially via data transfer and then via the Internet. This interface was unique at that time and crucial to our customers. It provided an interactive bridge between our customers and their data allowing them full access to and maintenance of their accounts.
